PHOTOSHOOT (1) PLANNING

MODELS:

I have chosen these models because they are my brothers who came along on a family vacation to the Great Smoky Mountains. We’re siblings, so we are together most of the time. This would make it easy for us to communicate about photoshoots to get the best results. They are suitable for my magazine’s genre and audience due to her years of experience in hiking, the genre of my magazine. In addition, she will be a good representation to my target audience of how the activity seen being done in the photographs appeal to the subject.

COSTUMES:

- winter hiking gear: pants and jackets

- proper hiking footwear: hiking boots

These costumes are appropriate for the genre as the costume depicts how one would dress when partaking in the activity being displayed in the magazine. In addition, this costume is appropriate to my target audience as it gives the audience an idea of what to wear when on the trails.

PHOTO-SHOOT PLANNING:

After doing research on my photoshoot location option, I was able to view pictures of the area and plan out ideas for my models in the photos. Below are my photo-shoot planning drawings.

These are appropriate for my genre as it will show views from the top of hiking trails that will be mentioned in the magazine. In addition, they will bring out my magazine's title. These photos will illustrate the "getaway" aspect of my magazine by showing beautiful views of mountains from thousands of feet high. In addition, these photoshoot plans are appropriate to my target audience because they will show the views of hiking that my audience will experience through my magazine.

LOCATION RECCE:

Final location decisions: Buzzard Roost via Stone Mountain Trail

(Cherokee National Forest, Tennessee-North Carolina)

This location is appropriate for my genre and audience as it is a hiking trail that will be portrayed in my magazine. The location shows the final lookout called Buzzard Roost on Stone Mountain Trail. The trail is appropriate to my genre and audience as it relates to the subjects and will display the "getaway" part of the magazine in the sense of beautiful views on a hiking trail.
