Cover Page Mockup 1

title/masthead: What does it literally mean? What does it suggest?  - Literally, the title means that going on trails is a getaway. It suggests that trails will make you feel like you're on  vacation getaway. typography: What mood, tone or attitude is suggested by the shape, size, colour and arrangement of the letters?  - By the shape, size, and color of the text, I think the mood is inspirational and factual. The font makes the title easily legible and it's simplicity implies straight forward, factual information located inside the magazine. image: What has been selected for the cover? How has it been lit, framed, shot from a particular angle? If there is a human figure who is it? How has it been posed? How does it address the reader? How is it dressed? - For the cover, a picture of a hiking trail in Stone Mountain, Georgia has been selected. It has been lit by natural sunlight and the shadows of the surrounding trees. It was framed with the trunk of a tree going up the left side of the photo, and was shot using the equal spacing of the top half being the sky and the bottom half being the trail path. It uses a long shot that places the 2 human figures in relation to their surrounding environment. The human figures are Kaitlyn and Amanda Hammel, along with their dog Rufus. They were posed walking on a trail and dressed wearing the proper hiking clothing and equipment for that hike. This picture addresses the reader by displaying scenery that viewers will say is something they would want to experience in person. The image is dressed with a range of trees, leaves, sky and the beauty of the trail.  Language: What is the strapline? What does it suggest about the magazine and the reader? What rhetorical features are evident in the cover lines? What are the most notable linguistic features of the editorial and articles?  - The strapline is "Your guide to trails, equipment, and more." This suggests that the magazine will be informative on the topics of hiking and walking trails, and that the reader will be more educated on these subjects upon reading the magazine. The cover lines display rhetorical features that portray locations of trails within the magazine. The most noticeable linguistic feature of the cover is the bold and easy to read title. In addition, the article titles are bold and stand out against the white text below them.
